Reanna Lomheim, M.Ed.
“I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta and have additional experience in a variety of areas including anxiety/depression, stress, grief, self harm, relationship issues, attachment/trauma, body image and weight management. I have worked with both adults and children in community based and clinical settings, but have a keen interest in child therapy.
I work from a client-centered approach and believe that for change to occur there must be a genuine, non-judgmental relationship between the client and the therapist. I try to meet my clients where they are at and as such, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities. These include: play therapy, mindfulness, person-centered, emotion focused and cognitive behavioural therapy. I believe in a collaborative approach where you work holistically with the client to establish balance in all aspects of their lives. By providing a safe space, I hope to help my clients gain greater awareness and insight into their life’s purpose/meaning and to empower clients to build on their individual resources required for successful change and growth. This is accomplished by reducing symptoms along the way but by ultimately helping them to gain a greater awareness of deeper issues that may be impacting them or preventing them from building the lives they desire.”
